The news: YouTube has officially topped all TV platforms in Nielsen’s February Media Distributor Gauge report, capturing 11.6% of total TV viewing and surpassing Disney for just the second time since the rankings launched.

The milestone marks a 53% increase in YouTube’s share from two years ago and reinforces the platform’s growing prominence on the biggest screen in the home.
Disney dropped to second place, partly due to the February absence of major sports events like the NFL Playoffs and College Football Championship, which boosted its January numbers.
