Note: ages 18+; individuals who have used electronic and telecommunication technologies themselves or through a caregiver to support long-distance clinical or nonclinical healthcare, or to receive health information from a medical services provider, at least once during the calendar year
Additional Note: Telehealth includes all the methods and avenues for enhancing public health and medical education and healthcare support and delivery using telecommunication technologies. Telehealth modalities include (a) clinical video telehealth or live video, (b) mobile health, (c) remote patient monitoring, and (d) store-and-forward technology. Other telehealth modalities include the use of a telephone and fax machine. Suicide hotlines are excluded. Medical services providers include but are not limited to doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers.
Methodology: Estimates are based on the analysis of survey and traffic data from research firms and regulatory agencies, sales projections, historical trends, company-specific data, and demographic and socioeconomic factors.
